After upgrading to linux-2.6.38-gentoo-r6, the virtualbox-modules-3.2.12 were recompiled. All modules were compiled successfully. Doing "modprobe vboxdrv" says modules was not found. /usr/src/linux is pointing to the new kernel sources. Does your dmesg output say anything interesting? Can you find(1) the relevant files in </lib/modules/2.6.38-gentoo-r6>?
I just made a reboot with 2.6.38-gentoo-r6 and now everything works fine. There shouldnt be a reboot needed with the preparations I made but perhaps that made the trick xX
