If I have the cd in the drive, the ut2003 ebuild tells me I need to mount the cd. With autofs, if I have my cdrom's automy directory as /mnt/cdrom then there will be no "/mnt/cdrom" until one trys to cd into it, in which it will be mounted automatically. I haven't checked how the ebuild checks for a mounted cd (I'm guessing it checks mtab) but maybe it should check /etc/autofs/* stuff to figure out where it's located and then ls that location (which will cause it to be mounted by the automounter) if it can't find it in mtab.
Or maybe there is a more simple solution. I really don't understand autofs too well, and I haven't checked to see what the ut2003 ebuild is doing.
