hardened-sources-2.6.38-r6, which is the latest (amd64 and x86) stable version, notes:

 * Users of grsecurity's RBAC system must ensure they are using
 * sys-apps/gradm-2.2.2*, which is compatible with hardened-sources-2.6.38-r6.
 * It is strongly recommended that the following command is issued
 * prior to booting a hardened-sources-2.6.38-r6 kernel for the first time:
 *
 * emerge -na =sys-apps/gradm-2.2.2*
 *

but currently gradm-2.2.2* has no stable version.
