new version please bump https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ Reproducible: Always
Any progress here?
this is the request for bump, so all need information are posted
Why is this RESOLVED/FIXED? libreoffice-3.4.0.ebuild is still not in the gentoo-x86 CVS repo.
u are right, but sb pleased me to close it... maybe it should really be open untill an ebuild get bumped.
Just an update. Sorry for the delay, have to deal with a bunch of not so fortunate private things, so the bump will take a bit longer as usual (also because it's non-trivial this time). Sorry again...
Perhaps it would be worth considering using the libreoffice eclass and ebuilds posted here: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-865091.html
Any news about it? I'm now using binary package, but I want KDE file dialog. So Should I wait for 3.4 several days, or compile 3.3?
http://www.libreoffice.org/download/ now it offical released with alot of bug fix. where is our hero, who wanted to bump the ebuild it :)

LibreOffice 3.4.1 is in the tree now, though as this release changes the build system we are using I've masked it for some more testing. This is were you come into play ;-) Please unmask and try if it builds fine for you.
i will sync and emerge it now. lets see how crappy its XD

But fails when building module translate_toolkit (see attached log). Looks like dmake is invoked with invalid options

(In reply to comment #14) > There was a bug / oversight in the initial ebuild in regards to autotools, > resync and try again please. Sorry about that. Still fails with the same error as in attached log

woah just tried it after compile and install. libreoffice crash at export of doc file and hangover. all files are lost.. and i have to recover all. nasty bug
(In reply to comment #18) > woah just tried it after compile and install. libreoffice crash at export of > doc file and hangover. > all files are lost.. and i have to recover all. nasty bug Wow, could you please open a new bug for that? It would be very helpful if you could try exporting xls and ppt files as well as other formats, and reporting your results there.
(In reply to comment #18) > woah just tried it after compile and install. libreoffice crash at export of > doc file and hangover. > > all files are lost.. and i have to recover all. nasty bug Can't reproduce here, doc-exporting works just fine. Anyway: Please file a separate bug and provide a bit more info / a reproducible test case.
I have successfully installed libreoffice-3.4.1 in my amd64 laptop. Document exporting works all right, even with MS Word formats. Thanks for your efforts with this ebuild.
Works fine for me with USE="binfilter cups dbus gstreamer gtk java kde nsplugin opengl (-aqua) -custom-cflags -debug -eds -gnome (-kdeenablefinal) -ldap -odk" Is there any chance to get "bash-completion" USE flag back, or is it enabled by default?

I guess this will come later (and it's on my TODO-list), but upstream hasn't ported this over to the new build system yet.
Sorry to spoil the party, but after the latest commit (the one adding offlinehelp USE flag), it doesn't seem to work anymore and it yields bug #374243.
(In reply to comment #13) > But fails when building module translate_toolkit (see attached log). Looks like > dmake is invoked with invalid options Seems like this build failure is quite specific. Should I file a separate bug?

It looks like the problem with translate_toolkit is because the build doesn't like more make jobs. First I tried with my usuall setting of -j8 and it faild, but with -j1 it appears to compiled just fine. The gighest I could go to get past this was -j3.

Builds fine here with -j5.
(In reply to comment #24) > Sorry to spoil the party, but after the latest commit (the one adding > offlinehelp USE flag), it doesn't seem to work anymore and it yields bug > #374243. It was not bug #374243, but something else, and BTW today the problem disappeared (without other changes to my systems) and it compiled fine again...
Libreoffice fails during configure for me. I opened bug 374451 for it.
Closing this bug as fixed as 3.4.2.2 is in main tree. If you encounter any build/configure issues open separate bugreports regarding to it. If we encouter 3 days in row without new bugreports (counting the reported as fixed it should be unmasked :))
