Description Michael Orlitzky gentoo-dev 2011-06-03 23:54:02 UTC
I just got the following on two machines. Not sure if it's a mirror issue, but I synced from two different mirrors, 141.219.155.230 and 88.198.83.250.

# emerge -puDN world

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies / * Digest verification failed:
 * /usr/portage/app-editors/emacs/emacs-23.3.ebuild
 * Reason: Filesize does not match recorded size
 * Got: 10071
 * Expected: 10075

I am seeing this as well. It is making it very difficult to update the system.
Comment 4 Nesc 2011-06-04 05:34:33 UTC
same.

To update system I downloaded the ebuild from gentoo-portage.com
There is the ebuild with 10075

is there something wrong with emerge --sync?

It is fixed now, keeping this bug open for a bit to avoid duplicates.
Comment 7 Alex Weiss 2011-06-04 07:56:40 UTC
I am having the same problem, though my latest emerge --sync has not taken care of it.

*** Bug 369999 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Comment 9 Robert J. Brown 2011-06-05 03:27:47 UTC
I did emerge --sync ; emerge -pv --update --deep --newuse system on 11 machines, and got no conflict, but one machine cannot see the internet directly, and so must have

http://gentoo.cites.uiuc.edu/pub/gentoo/snapshots/portage-latest.tar.bz2

fetched and copied to it and then unpacked. The problem was still in this file as of Universal Time: 03:26:58 Sunday June 5 2011 UTC

So the snapshot also needs to be fixed.
