Description Aniruddha Shankar 2003-12-31 07:19:40 UTC
Mozilla (I'm using 1.5, built on 20031228) is my primary browser. I make heavy use of tabs and the right click menu on the tab list has the entry "Close other tabs" right next to the "Close tab" entry.

What has happened once too often is that desiring to close the tab i'm on, a slight movement of the mouse causes me to close the tabs that I considered important and be left with the one tab which I didn't want. This is unacceptable as the fevered rantings on http://chris.hates-software.com/2003/08/14/f70b5327.html and http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=191578 testify. There's a patch for this bug out on on the bugzilla url above but because of (i think) a substantial quantity of bureaucracy and red tape on the mozilla project, it hasnt been fixed for a year.

Please fix this in Gentoo. I just lost a massive page in which I had painstakingly filled out about 40 forms.

I'm sorry to hear this has been such a problem for you. It might make things easier for you to use ctrl-w to close the current tab. However we're not going to put this patch into mozilla. If it's worthy, it will find itself upstream in due course. Sorry.
