The DESCRIPTION of net-wireless/rtl8192su-firmware claims to actually be for 8191 SU, but then installs /lib/firmware/RTL8192SU/rtl8192sfw.bin which clearly seems to be for 8192 and (after symlinking to rtlwifi/rtl8712u.bin for compatibility with Linux 2.6.39) does not work with the described chipset.

it is for the 8191 SU.  i know because i tested it and it worked.  if you dont like the filename on disk, complain to the writers of the linux kernel driver.
