Description John R. Graham gentoo-dev 2011-05-20 18:08:39 UTC
The man page for equery shows that the "equery list" output should only show an "M" in the mask status when the package is hard masked, however, the output shows the "M" when the package is masked by keyword. This appears to be deliberate as the code to produce the documented behavior is commented out in the _get_mask_status() function. However, although deliberate, I think it's unintended as the 0.3.0_rc11-r3 version doesn't behave that way.

the -0.2* series of gentoolkit is dead. There are far too many small things that need updating along with some larger issues to keep it patched.

the -0.3.0 series was somewhat delayed due to being too busy, but it will be going stable very soon. I would recommend to anyone that has trouble with the -0.2* of gentoolkit to keyword the latest maintainance release of the -0.3.0, currently -0.3.0.3 which looks like will be the one getting the stabilization request and emerge it.

Does that also apply to issues where the reporter identifies the cause, crafts a solution, and provides a patch? No hard feelings; just asking.

Per the maintainer, it's too close to the stabilization of the 0.3.0 branch to warrant patching the 0.2* branch.
