Please add use flag for --without-banner option Reproducible: Sometimes
There's no such option in the cofigure script of this package availabe: breakmygentoo:~ # grep -i banner /var/tmp/portage/net-ftp/pure-ftpd-1.0.32/work/pure-ftpd-1.0.32/configure breakmygentoo:~ # What exactly do you expect from such a USE flag / configure option?
Configuration includes this option # -x [ In normal operation mode, authenticated users can read/write # files beginning with a dot ('.'). Anonymous users can't, for security reasons # (like changing banners or a forgotten .rhosts). When '-x' is used, authenticated # users can download dot-files, but not overwrite/create them, even if they own # them. ] This option allows you to add this standard banner 220---------- Welcome to Pure-FTPd [privsep] [TLS] ---------- 220-You are user number 1 of 30 allowed. 220-Local time is now 14:39. Server port: 21. 220-This is a private system - No anonymous login 220 You will be disconnected after 15 minutes of inactivity. but do not remove it --without-banner feature allows to clean it up 220-FTP server ready. 220 This is a private system - No anonymous login There is no way to do it otherwise I am sorry for my english
Please take a look at the ChangeLog file of the source package and look for the changes of version 1.0.23 which has the following line: - --without-banner is gone. If you have a cookie file (-F), the default banner won't be displayed. So unfortunately there's nothing I can do here.
