Description Marc Richter 2011-05-17 12:04:54 UTC
When I use the basic search and search for :

"Status: All"
"Product: All"
Words: "gcc"

There's not a single bug found. The same result is, when I use the Words "ALL gcc".

Thanks for the report, but... "5000 bugs found" when I search for "ALL gcc" ...

right, email excluded again. I'll just close this bug. If you read this bug, feel free to re-open with more info.

marc, the "simple search" <https://bugs.gentoo.org/query.cgi?format=specific> uses an index of words with at least four characters.

if you want to search for the string "gcc" use the "advanced search" or "quicksearch" <https://bugs.gentoo.org/page.cgi?id=quicksearch.html> which jeremy used.

Hi Jeremy,

On the Screenshot you can see the actual result. You can see the querie's URI, too.

I pruduce the result as follows:

1) Login to Bugzilla.
2) Click onto that big "Search" in the middle of the three icons
3) Select "Basic Search"
4) Select "ALL" for "Product" and "Status"
5) Enter "ALL gcc" (or only "gcc" - results the same)
6) Click on "Search"
7) Watch the nasty "Zarro Bugs found" Screen, as it is in my screenshot.

Hi Torsten,

OK, this describes it. But what's with "ALL gcc" then? Doesn't "ALL " count?

Additionaly, there should be a notice in the simple search that it only works after the third letter.

Hm, we can probably change it to at least 3 chars.
Comment 9 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2015-05-27 08:28:48 UTC
i can't reproduce this with the current version

(1) goto simple search:
https://bugs.gentoo.org/query.cgi?format=specific
(2) set Status to All
(3) set Product to All
(4) set Words to "gcc"
(5) hit search and get back lots of bugs
