Hi! Jason Wallace <jason.r.wallace AT gmail DOT com> is willing to became Gentoo developer. That's how he introduces himself:

I have been working with Gentoo since 2002 and currently maintain (by-proxy (patrick, pva)) a number of high visibility security related ebuilds in the main portage tree. I have been maintaining the net-analyzer/snort package for over three years, and both net-analyzer/barnyard2 and net-libs/daq for over a year now. I also actively maintain net-analyzer/pulledpork, net-analyzer/hogger, net-analyzer/daemonlogger, and net-analyzer/pf_ring-kmod in the Sunrise Overlay...


Previously I've worked with Jason on snort ebuilds and I'll be happy to mentor him. Joshua (kumba) was very kind to co-mentor. We'll send update as soon as quizz(es) will be finished.

Whoops, I sent the ebuild quiz to the recruiters about two weeks ago and totally forgot about this bug.  I have been rally busy the last few weeks.

Recruiters, has the quiz been checked yet for accuracy?  Any further steps for Wally?

The current status is: in queue.
Once this bug is on top of the queue and a recruiter has the needed time, he will comment on this bug. Since all recruiters seem to have been busy recently, it may take some additional weeks until this bug is processed further.

I will be your recruiter. Please send your quizzes to [e-mail] when approved by your mentor. Always add a comment to this bug when you send something to that address. When the quizzes are sent please contact me by IRC or email to schedule the first review session. If you think that recruiters aren't paying attention to this bug at any later point in time, it's your job to ping us on IRC if you don't want any delays.

I emailed him just the other day for an update.  RL duties have him preoccupied at the moment, but I think he's going to try and work on the end-quiz soon.
