Here is a direct link to the newest Ubuntu font compressed to .zip - http://font.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu-font-family-0.71.2.zip . It would be nice to have the font marked as stable. Anyway, how can a font be unstable? Is it about the ebuild script too?

This should really be two bug reports; one to bump the version and another to stabilize the version currently in portage. That makes life easier if a dev can do one but not the other.

Basically, fonts are subject to the same rules as any other package. They need to be in ~arch for at least a month (barring security bugs) before they can be marked stable. This ferrets out any unforeseen issues before a package gets marked stable. For an example, when the ebuild for ubuntu-font-family-0.70.1 was initially added, it was missing a dependency on the 'unzip' program that is needed to decompress them. This caused emerge failures for a day or so until it was fixed.

Anyway, I was coming here to report v0.70.1 stable on amd64, and request stabilization.

I consider this a bump request bug. I will file another stabilization bug tomorrow (and hopefully remember to CC you to it).

Anyway, package is bumped, thanks a lot for reporting.
