Widelands remains in english, whatever language is chosen

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch widelands
2. In options, select a language
3.
Actual Results:  
language remains english

Expected Results:  
Apply the selected language

I had this kind of issue when I packaged widelands for Mandriva. AFAIK it is because of the non-standard locale directory location.
