Description Luke-Jr 2011-05-14 19:43:07 UTC
It should be possible to install and use KDE without any GNOME dependencies. This is intended to be a meta-bug depending on all the various issues interfering with that goal.
Comment 1 Tomáš Chvátal (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-05-14 20:19:08 UTC
Please DO NOT open bugs of this magnitude unless you get permission from the kde team.

We are not planning to remove dependencies that are shared between both desktop environments.
Comment 2 Luke-Jr 2011-05-14 20:26:42 UTC
This isn't about mere shared dependencies, just GNOME-centric ones like glib.

And glib is not gnome-centric.
