Latest stable release of the 1.2.x series, announced a few days ago: http://dovecot.org/list/dovecot-news/2011-May/000190.html
Hello? Can't you upgrade to dovecot-2? It get's tricky for Gentoo Devs to provide "stable" intermediate revisions when all the ~arch testing is done on the latest 2 series. Assigning to maintainers.

There aren't any stable 2.x release in portage, with good reason. The 2.x series is stabilizing but the upgrade has been a little rocky. Most releases have had known bugs that would affect us, whereas the 1.2.x releases don't. Makes it an easy choice for now. Plus, since 1.2.x is in bugfix-only mode, it should just be a rename 1.2.16 -> 1.2.17.
Waiting for the sieve release for 1.2.17 before bumping. I'll see what I can do if no sieve is forthcoming in a couple of days. Leaving it open as a reminder.
Sieve was bumped sometime in the last couple of days: http://dovecot.org/list/dovecot-news/2011-May/000192.html
