This might just be something to create up and shoot upstream to the authors.
care to 'create up' ?
No problem... I'll attach one later on today.

I know i'm pushing the boundaries here, but could you integrate it in the makefile stuff & post it upstream as well ? ;) The comment could be more verbose maybe : 'Tool for digital cameras' or something ?
Created attachment 22850 [details] More verbose version
I made the comment more verbose, but I'll be honest. I don't know how to do the Makefile stuff, otherwise I would have simply done it.
I'll see what i can do, but then the bug will linger longer until i find the time. About the comment (and i'm nitpicking here): afaik the comment is about making clear what the application does (eg. epiphany -> 'web browser', gthumb -> 'view and organize your images' ). 'frontend to libgphoto2' still doesn't mean anything to a casual user, that's who you should keep in mind for it.
Hrrrmn... I've always made the comments to be more of what the package is rather than what it does... if someone were wondering what gtkam did, they would look at libgphoto2... I can see exactly what you mean, though. I just look at it as gtkam really isn't *anything* except a front-end... I'll poke around with the Makefile stuff in my spare time and see what I can come up with... if I get it working, I'll post here and shoot it upstream.
gtkam now includes a .desktop file. "Transfer pictures from your digital camera" is what they went with.
