Description Marijn Schouten (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-05-09 07:46:15 UTC
After upgrading to x11-base/xorg-server-1.10.1 (admittedly as part of a larger upgrade) the dialog for choosing to display two different images on my two monitors won't apply any more after I uncheck "Same image in[sic] all monitors". Clicking the apply button does change the preview (for example when changing monitor size).

Everything was working fine with x11-base/xorg-server-1.10.0.901.

"the dialog"? Can you be more specific about which dialog you are referring to? Does configuring the monitor layout with the xrandr tool still work?
Comment 2 Marijn Schouten (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-05-09 08:29:25 UTC
Sorry for being unclear. I meant: System -> Preferences -> Monitors
Comment 3 Marijn Schouten (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-05-09 08:39:49 UTC
Yes, with xrandr I was able to change my Screen size and organize my monitors.
In my case:
xrandr --fb 2560x1024
xrandr --output DVI-0 --left-of VGA-0

Thanks for the suggestion, chithanh!

Try to run "gnome-display-properties" from a terminal looking for errors shown when reproducing the problem.

Would also be interesting to know what changed between those xorg-server versions that could break g-c-c
Comment 6 Marijn Schouten (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-05-10 07:00:58 UTC
Strangely enough it works fine now. I guess the problem was broken linkage with xcb-util which I fixed yesterday. Sorry for the noise.
