Description Ithamar Garbe 2003-12-28 06:51:01 UTC
When trying to submit any changed configuration in the "Generals"-Tab an almost empty page is displayed (only the navigation is shown). Changes in SWAT aren't written to smb.conf
The same problem occurs in the advanced mode of the "Shares"-Tab. In standart mode the preferences are committed, but in advanced mode only a blank page with the menu is shown after the submit.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge samba 3.0.1
2. try to change the option "time server" to "yes" and submit it (advanced tab!)
3. try changing several options in advanced mode, too...
Actual Results:
The blank page with the navigation is shown, but nothing else.
Changes are not committed to smb.conf

Expected Results:
The Advanced Tab should be displayed again with the current configuration and
the changes should have been written to smb.conf

The samba server was tested on 2 different systems, one is an Athlon 1400, 256
MB RAM, Asus A7V133 with Kernel 2.4.20, and updated system via emerge -u world
The other PC is a Celeron 333 with 256 MB RAM, also Kernel 2.4.20 and actual
packages

I had the same problem, upgrading to 3.0.2a fixed it ...

I'll assume this is fixed with the later version of samba. go ahead and
reopen if it's still an issue.
