I find the 2.0 version of Xchat to be subpar to the gtk1.x version. Several nice features are missing, and I can't resize the window to be very narrow. "emerge xchat" should default to the older gtk1.2.x version, and "emerge xchat-2" should use the gtk2.x version.

since you feel so strongly please mask it locally and continue to use xchat-1.8.11.ebuild
