Description Alan McKinnon 2011-05-06 11:22:12 UTC
kword-2.3.3-r1 links to libgsf if found during configure:

$ ldd /usr/lib64/kde4/mswordodf_import.so | grep libgsf
        libgsf-1.so.114 => /usr/lib64/libgsf-1.so.114 (0x00007f48f23fe000)
$ ldd /usr/lib64/libkowv2.so.4.0.1 | grep libgsf
        libgsf-1.so.114 => /usr/lib64/libgsf-1.so.114 (0x00007f8954f97000)

Extract from app-office:kword-2.3.3-r1 build log:

-- Found GLIB2: /usr/lib64/libglib-2.0.so
-- checking for module 'libgsf-1'
--   found libgsf-1, version 1.14.20
-- Found LIBGSF: /usr/lib64/libgsf-1.so

   * libgsf - LibGSF

But libgsf in not in DEPENDS for kword-2.3.3.-r1

This causes issues with --depclean:

 * In order to avoid breakage of link level dependencies, one or more
 * packages will not be removed. This can be solved by rebuilding the
 * packages that pulled them in.
 *
 *   gnome-extra/libgsf-1.14.20 pulled in by:
 *     app-office/kword-2.3.3-r1 needs libgsf-1.so.114
 *

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge =kword-2.3.3.-r1 =libgsf-1.14.20
2. emerge -a --depclean
3.
Actual Results:
--depclean wants to remove a package in use

Expected Results:
dep graph should be consistent, --depclean should know that libgsf should stay

Fixed, thanks! (Hard dep added, not really worth a useflag)
Comment 2 Francesco Cusolito 2011-05-20 15:56:21 UTC
With the DEP added to kword-2.3.3-r1, I MUST merge also libgfs and its dependecies (like glade). Is it right? Because I think that on my netbook I'll never use glade or libgfs.
The DEP should not be optional?

How do you get the idea that libgfs depends on glade? It does not (actually it has very few direct dependencies, and most are already needed for kde anyway)...
Comment 4 Артём Воротников 2011-05-30 21:42:57 UTC
Well, the r1 build pulls redundant gtk dependencies into my qt/KDE system. Will have to mask it then...
