Arches: please test and stabilize =sys-kernel/tuxonice-sources-2.6.37. Testing should involve suspending and hibernating the machine a few times.
Comment 2 Ian Delaney (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-05-11 02:32:14 UTC
amd64.

mixed result. with the tux kernel, seems implied to emerge suspend & hibernate- script to acquire s2ram & hibernate-ram.

with stable packages, emerged suspend after adjusting use flag for lzo.
emerged hibernate-script

success with hibernation. Cannot suspend. Not a bug but a deficiency in the package

archtester testuser # hibernate-ram
s2ram: unknown machine, see s2ram(8) and the USuspendRamForce option
hibernate-ram: Aborting.

It promptly refers to the s2ram executable.
Have no idea how to update the hibernate-script to 'see' the machine.
Perhaps an answer to that is forthcoming.
To my understanding, s2ram hibernates. hibernate-ram suspends but it can't see the machine.

Comment 5 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2011-05-11 08:14:35 UTC
In my case, I am suspending and hibernating succesfully on my laptops (x86 and amd64) for months, but I always use pm-utils for that instead of hibernate-script
