Reading https://cukic.co/2011/01/22/stripes-infinity/ and its part about Fedora and trademark in particular, I'm not 100% sure we'd not have the same problem yet our current primary logo is licensed under CC-BY-SA whic I think should satisfy his "The logo is published under GPL or similar license" plus if we ask "I get an official request" is satisfied, too.

I think it would still be a great addition to our pool of artwork but I don't have the resources to pursue this topic myself in the next two weeks. If anyone wasn't to take over contacting Ivan Čukić, that would be welcome.

not sure about this.
I just find this website about creative commons and trademark
https://creativecommons.org/faq/#could-i-use-a-cc-license-to-share-my-logo-or-trademark

Doesn't either all or none of our artwork have that problem then?

What about just asking Ivan Čukić if is ok to work with logo licensed under CC-BY-SA
is the person doing it,
so I suppose Ivan Čukić should be the one to make such decision?
