to clarify, the failing was as a part of the emerge -1e world.
I could close this as NEEDINFO, but I guess it will be extremely hard, if not tedious, to reproduce this problem.
I doubt if it reproducible, it a a little hope the error messagees would trigger some thouhgts about what could be wrong...
