Evolution needs gnome-1.4 libs to work. Fixed the gtkhtml issue. It should work even with unmasked gnome2 packages now.
I'm sorry to report that the r2 ebuild still has the same problem. It even quits with exactly the same error message.
Yeah but I've committed r3 not r2. r2 Was the old one.
