The ViewKlass library is a free version of the ViewKit library. ViewKit is an Object Oriented wrapper for Motif programs. The real ViewKit is not free but this is a pretty good stab at a clone. This is my first ebuild submission so if something is not cool - sorry! There are two files, one is the ebuild and the other is a patch to fix the Makefile.in file so that the portage/ebuild system builds the library Thanks, Scott

Oh yes, I put this library into x11-libs. Maybe you guys think it should go someplace else? Scott
ViewKlass does not seem compatible with gcc 3.1 or gcc 3.2-cvs. Unless someone contributes a patch or upstream fixes it there is no point in checking this in currently :(
I will look into this...
I have made changes to this library to make it compatible with gcc-3.x.x and I have forwarded the changes to the author.
Heard back from the author and the changes will be incorporated into version 0.6.1 which will be released next week. Please leave this bug open and I will just provide an updated ebuild. Scott
Hi... Any news on ViewKlass? :)
The author has made chages to the library supporting gcc3.2 which are in cvs. I will post a patch against the released version of the library 0.6.0 that we use. It builds and runs fine under gentoo. Update coming so this issue can be closed.
Okay, here is an updated ebuild and patch for ViewKlass-0.6.0 to make it work with gcc-3.2 under gentoo. I called the ebuild version 0.6.0-r1 as it's not really version 0.6.0 anymore. I also ran the ebuild through lintool and it looks okay other than the missing header. Oh yes, I also set the KEYWORD to ~x86 as I guess that is the new regime. Scott

Sorry, I'm inactive and these bugs should have been reassigned to someone else. Bouncing to bug-wranglers.

Scott, I'm really sorry to see how old this bug got before it was resolved - I guess it has been passed about a bit!! Added to portage with ~x86 keywords (because of the release freeze). Matt
