Description Pavel Stratil 2011-04-24 20:07:35 UTC
Hi,

I started to encounter DM (gnome) freezes that occur when the screen goes to sleep mode. Looking into several logfiles I couldn't find anything relevant, only dmesg keeps always logging unknown WMI events:

[ 1142.782544] dell-wmi: Received unknown WMI event (0xf)
[ 2185.500960] dell-wmi: Received unknown WMI event (0xf)
[ 2185.570073] dell-wmi: Received unknown WMI event (0x11)
[ 2505.782028] dell-wmi: Received unknown WMI event (0x11)
[ 3224.096206] dell-wmi: Received unknown WMI event (0xf)
[ 3224.118736] dell-wmi: Received unknown WMI event (0x11)
[ 3248.064283] uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.1: release dev 2 ep81-INT, period 1, phase 0, 23 us
[ 3248.154287] uhci_hcd 0000:00:1d.1: release dev 2 ep82-INT, period 1, phase 0, 23 us

I'm using a Dell XT2 laptop with a 2.6.38-r2 gentoo kernel.

Reproducible: Always

1) Please post your `emerge --info' output too.
2) What does sleep mode mean to you?
3) How do you trigger going into sleep mode, and what events occur after that?
4) Please attach the relevant Xorg log.
