Description Patrick 2011-04-22 18:08:27 UTC
The sys-apps/kbd package doesnt install the `resizecons` utility. There isnt a use flag for this binary, so its not a configurable option either.
Comment 1 Patrick 2011-04-22 18:09:23 UTC
Oh, this was with sys-apps/kbd-1.15
Comment 2 Rafał Mużyło 2011-04-22 18:43:31 UTC
Your 'emerge --info' is missing, but here's a hint:
read configure.ac - that program is built only on x86.
Comment 3 Patrick 2011-04-22 19:30:21 UTC
Here is `emerge --info`. And the program compiles and runs on amd64 just fine.

kbd has always done this. it only installs resizecons on x86 systems.

this is probably because the code uses x86 asm (inb/outb).
Comment 5 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2012-08-18 04:56:52 UTC
this has been fixed upstream and will be in the next release
