We need to have the handbook "2.6-ready" when the next Gentoo release is due. I believe that at this time it is better to leave the kernel instructions are they are and put a small note beneith with 2.6-specific comments. The patch that I'll attach in a minute does that for the location of which I know what to do. I am uncertain about the non-x86 architectures but I guess they'll inform us when a change is needed.
