When I try to install Gimp 1.2.5, it wants to download Digest-MD5-2.27.tar.gz but it's not in CPAN repositories, so Gimp cannot be emerged and it fails. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge gimp 2. Digest-MD5 cannot be downloaded 3. So no gimp is emerged Actual Results: That gimp cannot be emerged because it has not digest-md5. Expected Results: Gimp being compiled, obviously.
That file does seem to be on the distfiles, however. I can verify that pair has it at http://gentoo.mirrors.pair.com/distfiles/Digest-MD5-2.27.tar.gz and it's on iBiblio at ftp://ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo/distfiles/Digest-MD5-2.27.tar.gz, so if you're unable to get it from the distfiles mirror you're using, emerge mirrorselect and switch mirrors.
Yes, you have the point. I have changed the mirrors and I can fetch the file. Thanks a lot, but why some servers don't mirror some files? This way is very difficult to know if there is an error or is the mirror that doesn't mirror very well. I'm closing this bug. Thanks
