fixed ebuild

fixed ebuild
Comment 2 Shunsuke Shimizu 2011-08-25 13:04:04 UTC
This bug is caused by change of $LOAD_PATH of ruby 1.9.2.

With this ebuild, test succeed with ruby19. A little failure occurred with ruby18 or jruby, but it is not due to a problem of ebuild.

new fixed ebuild and patch

Sorry, I had mistaken. The test can work with CRuby 1.8 and Ruby Enterprise, but Gentoo's handling of multiple versions of ruby hadn't work well.

I avoid the problem by dirty patch, but I'm not sure this patch is a correct solution.
Comment 4 Hans de Graaff gentoo-dev Security 2011-08-25 19:12:26 UTC
You would only need one patch for this (see patch -R). I have not looked at this in detail yet, but is this not a bug in erubis that would also manifest itself in normal use, not just the tests?

In any case I think it is wrong to patch the lib code just for testing, since then we are no longer testing the actual live code that will be installed. I'll try to investigate this also in the coming days.

I hadn't thought about `patch -R`, thanks.

As far as I has understood, there is no problem after erubis is installed. But it makes confusion about version and failures of test at each_ruby_test phase, because it calls system's ruby command in test.

I agree with the opinion, though I wasn't able to find another solution.

Ruby 1.9 has been masked for removal.
