The Printing HOWTO was originally submitted by zhen before he was a full-fledged Gentoo developer. For whatever reason, his 'Author' link up top is not a mailto: for any address of his. Recently, I've been getting a lot of mail from people about problems with the Printing HOWTO; I've nudged them over to the 'zilla, but I think I'm getting mailed due to my address being the first real mailto: link. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Look at the Printing HOWTO. 2. Look for a mailto: link in the right column. Actual Results: The author doesn't have one! Expected Results: There should be one for zhen; if not, the editors should come before the copyeditor.
ZhEN explicitly asked to remove his e-mail address from the guide. That doesn't mean he isn't the author anymore (you can't change that) but he's too busy with the stage development and other stuff.
All right. A reorg of the credits would be appreciated, then, since the copyeditor shouldn't be the one getting corrections.
Actually corrections should be sent to bugs.gentoo.org or any editor on the document (what are editors for otherwise? /me ducks :)
Right. The problem is that, as it is, my mailto: is higher than the editors', so that's the one that users click on immediately. They see 'Phil Bordelon' right below Author, or it's the first one, . . . whatever it is, they mail me. Hence a reorg--put the copyeditor at the bottom (or remove my credit entirely; while I did copyedit the original version, that is no longer true) and the editors have a better chance of getting the mail that they should.
Okay, I'll move you down the list then...
Voila, you're now "downgraded" :) What is a copyeditor exactly?
I proofread the original version and edited it for clarity, correctness, and grammar; hence, copyeditor. Thanks, Sven.
