There is a new version (5328) of the nvidia binary drivers, available at: http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/1.0-5328/NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5328-pkg1.run or ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/1.0-5328/
They don't compile cleanly with 2.6.0 kernel, hopefully the good people at minion.de will have a patch for us ready soon :)

Created attachment 22560 [details] Ebuilds for 1.0.5328 drivers Here are updated ebuilds for the 1.0.5328 drivers. Including the minion.de patch for the kernel driver. Usual format for multiple ebuild archives. =)
Created attachment 22561 [details] nvidia-glx-1.0.5328 - ebuild ebuild for nvidia-glx-1.0.5328 is attached cp files/nvidia-glx-1.0.4496-defines.patch files/nvidia-glx-1.0.5328-defines.patch compiles correctly.
Sorry, guess I was too slow. I'll package it up correctly next time. =)
I wasn't sure if I should add a comment here or report a new bug but I'm having problems similiar to some seen in the forums with these new drivers. If you tell them to use nvidia's agp they simply don't work, X shuts down right after starting. If you use agpgart, X will start but glxgears gets 15fps Max.
The 2.6 patch at minion.de has been updated, according to guys in #nvidia it fixes the problems people have been having.
This ebuild is somehow messed up. Even if I give it the newest patch, X will segfault while loading up glx. If I apply the patch and do it myself (after unmerging) it works fine.
yeah, i'm finding that if i disable the glx extension, everything loads fine ... otherwise, anything that uses opengl segfaults
* media-video/nvidia-kernel Latest version available: 1.0.5328 * media-video/nvidia-glx Latest version available: 1.0.5328 Closing RESOLVED FIXED.
Please file a new bug for issues you may have with the driver for tracking purposes. The original subject of this bug is solved, and unrelated to your other issues. TIA, --tseng
ive created Bug 36551 to handle the segfaults/etc... since this one was closed :P technically it wasnt unrelated since spyderous version bumped the packages w/out reviewing this bug first
Largely because I didn't see the bug. It wasn't in my bug email at the time I made the bump. Anyway, moving to the other.
FYI, new Minion patch is up. It's attached here (I hope!)
