Description Don Bishop 2011-04-10 12:27:56 UTC
2011-04-10 08:14:39 (37.6 MB/s) - `/usr/portage/distfiles/xrdb-1.0.9.tar.bz2' saved [245/245]

('Filesize does not match recorded size', 245L, 118971)
!!! Fetched file: xrdb-1.0.9.tar.bz2 VERIFY FAILED!
!!! Reason: Filesize does not match recorded size
!!! Got: 245
!!! Expected: 118971
Refetching... File renamed to '/usr/portage/distfiles/xrdb-1.0.9.tar.bz2._checksum_failure_.OdEH3n'

!!! Couldn't download 'xrdb-1.0.9.tar.bz2'. Aborting.
 * Fetch failed for 'x11-apps/xrdb-1.0.9', Log file:
 *  '/var/tmp/portage/x11-apps/xrdb-1.0.9/temp/build.log'

>>> Failed to emerge x11-apps/xrdb-1.0.9, Log file:

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge --uvDN world

Actual Results:
fetch fails because ebuild filesize disagrees ith actual file size

Expected Results:
fetch proceeds normally

Noticed about 36hrs ago, have resynced portage tree three time since then, still same result. This is problematic since the upgrade from <1.0.9 involves a security issue.

245 bytes looks like a http status page. Maybe something is wrong with your mirror? Try commenting out or changing GENTOO_MIRRORS in /etc/make.conf

Okay, all fixed, sorry for the false alarm.

Trouble was with http_replicator. Been running it for years, never any trouble -- I have about 10 machines running Gentoo. Just a problem with this ebuild though, strange... I did try to clear out the old tar file and clean up the manifest, etc., but still kept failing.

Anyway, consider it closed. Thanks for your help.
