CUPS error log

After emerging splix-2.0.0_p20110219, any attempt to print failed with error "SpliX Invalid PPD file version: 2.0.0 but the PPD file is designed for SpliX V. SpliX V. 2.0.0". I am using Samsung CLX-2160.

Reverting to latest stable '=net-print/splix-2.0.0' fixed the problem.

Emerge info output:

Did you follow the postinst warning instructions after update? If yes, does creating a new printer in cups fix your setup?

Sadly, there is no easy way to update the installed PPD files. I am currently looking at a debian postinst that seems to do the job, but I am still unsure about running it

No, originally I missed the instructions. When I removed the ppd file and modified the printer, everything is working.

Just a thought: If /etc/cups/ppd was in CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK, would it help you - to be able to remove or update the ppd files?

Given comment 1 and comment 2, resolving this as invalid (it helps to read elog messages).
