the package sys-apps/slocate is removed since several weeks replacement is sys-apps/mlocate but the (german) install handbook (see link) still says user could optional install slocate for file Indexing. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open link 2. read 3. see emerge slocate and several other occurencies of slocate Actual Results: emerge would fail since slocate is removed from portage Expected Results: emerge file indexing software should be changed from sys-apps/slocate to sys-apps/mlocate
Hi Christoph, thanks for the report. We're aware of the issue you're describing. Unfortunately, the German translations currently lag behind as we're short of manpower. You can view the status of the German translations at http://www.gentoo.de/trads/ . The slocate paragraph will be updated as soon as someone (which basically means: me) updates the rest of the handbook. I will do that as soon as I have time.
This is finally fixed.
