what version of gtk+ do you have ?
did you want to the end of the libnotify update (revdep-rebuild, ...) ?
can you provide a full build.log please.
Comment 2 William Roberts 2011-04-06 05:31:56 UTC
I tried with both gtk+-2.24.3 and gtk+-3.0.8 and both render the same results. As for revdep-rebuild, that came back clean, but I ran it just to verify.

x11-libs/libnotify-0.7.2 USE="-doc (-introspection) (-test)"
x11-libs/gtk+-3.0.8 USE="xinerama (-aqua) -cups -debug -doc -examples (-introspection) -test -vim-syntax"

Here is the build.log
(sorry for pastebin, I couldn't post it in here because it was too many characters)

Comment 3 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2011-04-06 10:00:21 UTC
Did you run "revdep-rebuild" without any more arguments? I remember I needed to run it in one machine as passing --library option didn't found all broken packages :-/
Comment 4 William Roberts 2011-04-07 02:50:00 UTC
After you mentioned it, I tried running --library on gtk+ and on libnotify and just revdep-rebuild by itself and everything is good. It didn't rebuild anything on all three.
Comment 5 William Roberts 2011-04-07 04:31:21 UTC
The libnotify flag was flipped, and needs to be active in order to build successfully.
Comment 6 Gilles Dartiguelongue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-04-07 11:06:24 UTC
that's still a bug :)
Comment 7 Thomas Kahle (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-05-07 16:50:51 UTC
Please don't just add arch teams yourself. Nothing x86 can do here.
Comment 9 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2011-11-22 00:40:47 UTC
Should be fixed in 2.90.1_pre20111001

Gnome team, should we simply drop 0.13.3? It won't ever go to stable and, for testing purposes, it's better to point people to latest development version instead of letting them use this old one

The 2.90* snapshot is from trunk and a number of things are broken with it. Most prominently, it randomly hangs while changing the song. I would not recommend unmasking it, or using it.
Comment 11 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2011-11-22 17:10:53 UTC
But also 0.13.x looks broken in some areas and I don't think it will have any fix into it, I would vote for also mask (or remove) it to force people to use 0.12 or masked version (if they really want to help on testing development versions).
Comment 12 Gilles Dartiguelongue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-11-23 14:17:44 UTC
0.13 is much better than 0.12. We can't use 2.90 because it's not a release like nirbheek said. This particular problem is easy to fix and for DAAP we could just port 0.13 to use the new libdmapsharing API and I think that would fix all the bugs currently opened against 0.13.
Comment 13 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2012-01-30 10:02:22 UTC
Now that 2.95 is released, maybe we could suggest people running 0.13 to update to it :-/, or is it still too broken?

This should be fixed in 2.95 for sure (both in testing)
