Description David Carlos Manuelda 2011-04-01 03:35:44 UTC
I don't know if it would be possible, but almost for each bug posted, it is required to attach emerge --info output.
I've thought it would be usefull to allow users to attach it once (and keep updated) to their accounts in order to avoid attaching the same emerge --info for every bug (which is a waste of space)

Reproducible: Always

Also, add a link in all bugreports for developers to see reporter's emerge --info attached to account.
Comment 2 Myckel Habets 2011-04-02 12:13:00 UTC
emerge --info could possibly change with an update, requiring everybody to update their profile, but then previous bugs would point to a different emerge --info then when the bug was posted.

As an arch tester this would not be practically for me (as every package stabilization could give changes to emerge --info).

I think this will cause a lot of problems for people to track down bugs (there is a reason why emerge --info is posted with almost every bug)

while the idea sounds good at first glance, it doesnt seem to hold up in the longer view and seems like it could easily cause more damage than good. by forcing people to post `emerge --info` in every report, we (hopefully) get the correct state at that point in time.

basically what Myckel said.
