Description Jesús Guerrero Botella (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-03-29 14:03:29 UTC
When I use equery I can see this:

 - - symlink : Force kernel ebuilds to automatically update the /usr/src/linux symlink

This is, obviously, from the global flag we use in the *-sources packages, but it's misleading when applied to media-video/mplayer2. For what I can read in the ebuild (amongst a few minor things) this flag for mplayer2 is responsible for creating symlinks from mplayer2 and midentify2 to just mplayer and midentify, I assume for backwards compatibility.

I think that a proper description for this flag should be added in metadata.xml.

Reproducible: Always
