autoconf 2.58 fails to merge with MAKEOPTS="-j4"
Setting MAKEOPTS="-j2" allows a successful merge, if this is confirmed I suggest that this is set in the ebuild to allow successful merge on systems w/ higher # of jobs

Works fine here with -j6.
