Description Graeme Humphries 2003-12-18 10:35:34 UTC
It'd be really nice to support the freedesktop.org systemtray integration standard, so that the best Linux CD/DVD mastering program would have proper tray integration under GNOME as well as KDE.

could you elaborate more on what needs to be done to support this? Is this a Gentoo thing or something the k3b folks need to do?
Comment 2 Graeme Humphries 2003-12-18 11:09:14 UTC
Oh, sorry, I should've said. I'm pretty sure this is an upstream issue. :)
Comment 3 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-12-24 13:11:06 UTC
ok, then I will mark it upstream :)
Comment 4 Graeme Humphries 2003-12-24 13:32:54 UTC
Ok, I'm confused about bugzilla again. Shouldn't we wait until it actually *is* resolved upstream before marking it as such? I assumed that the package maintainer would have to first notify upstream of this feature request, wait until it's implemented, and /then/ mark it as "RESOLVED UPSTREAM". No?
Comment 5 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-12-24 14:22:01 UTC
In Gentoo's case, UPSTREAM means that it's an upstream issue and not one that Gentoo will tackle. For more major bugs, some devs may notify the upstream folks themselves, but for stuff like this it's really up to the end user who wants the feature.

Hope that helps.

Ahh, that does clarify things for me. I'll have to remember to make a request upstream after New Years. :)
