Apparently, kdebase does not include tools for changing screen resolution on the fly using the RandR extension to X (very useful when giving talks using projectors that don't like my resolution). Other distros, such as Fedora or suse, include krandrtray, and it appears to be a part of KDE on kde.org. Is there a reason for it not being in Gentoo, or does it need to be manually enabled in the ebuilds? I miss it :-) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
I apologize. I now see that krandrtray is not part of KDE 3.1.4, but of the CVS version of KDE. The other distros must have backported it. I suppose this means that it will appear in KDE 3.2, when that is released. Best regards Jakob
yessir, you are correct.
