I added an rc-script to the hddtemp ebuild to start the hddtemp daemon at boottime, example for use with the hddtemp-gkrellm plugin

I updated the ebuild to version 0.3-beta11.
Unpack in your PORTDIR_OVERLAY (e.g. /usr/local/portage), create a digest and
emerge.

sam, you should add a warning in the ebuild to make sure hddtemp will be added in the default runlevel. adding it to the boot level didn't work on my box.
