Simply renaming the existing ebuild does not work, as the Makefile causes a sandbox access violation when trying to establish symlinks. The attached ebuild fixes this. The new version has some nice improvements, e.g.: * file-roller can now open and show the contents * displaying compression progress works now For those interested, you can read more at http://ck-hack.blogspot.com/ Reproducible: Always
Created attachment 267193 [details] Updated ebuild lrzip-0.601.ebuild.
Created attachment 269767 [details] ebuild for lrzip-0.602 lrzip-0.602 is out, the symlinks have been fixed and the ebuild doesn't need to care about them anymore.
It should be noted that 0.602 is a release marked as "stable" by upstream.
Any update on this? 0.603 and 0.604 are both out now.
Gentoo seems to go to sleep. Whan I se the amount of ebuilds comin' in or getting updated, I doubt Gentoo will be _the_ up-to-date distribution in some months. Where's this ebuild update? Where's gcc 4.6.1? Where's all the other stuff?

lrzip 0.605 was released May 8. Note that the bump is needed not just for having "the latest and greatest", but because the current latest version in portage in not new enough to decompess newer archive formats: Attempting to work with file produced by newer lrzip version 0.6 file. Decompressing...Unexpected initial c_len 12946366465 in streams 844425265676288 Fatal error - exiting
My ebuild for lrzip-0.602 also works for 0.605. However, I had troubles unpacking the tar archive created with 0.605. It would report something about 'not a tar header' or similar, while file-roller could successfully extract the contents. I will report this upstream shortly.
Added another URL which might be a bit more helpful for tracking lrzip's development, as the first URL only points to the download location.
(In reply to comment #8) > My ebuild for lrzip-0.602 also works for 0.605. That ebuild is exactly the same as lrzip-0.46.ebuild which is in portage. I simply renamed that to lrzip-0.605.ebuild
0.606 is now out, fixing the lrzuntar issue.
Ebuild for 0.606 is now in the tree. Sorry for taking so long, real life has lately left me no time to mess with Gentoo.
