It is a dependency for submitted by me proposition of ebuild for geant4-vmc package (bug https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360287 ). Please also read bug https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360285 for Geant4 backward compatibility issue.
Created attachment 267115 [details] updated (cleaned up) version of ebuild I have removed from ebuild a few old things which are not valid any longer in latest vgm release.
i pushed these ebuilds in the science overlay. please test, and when ready i will integrate the changes to the main tree. feel free to modify them (and send pull requests via our github). thanks.
The version from science-overlay does not compile for me against =geant-4.9.4_p03 from tree, as it searches for "Geant4Config.cmake" which is not yet available in that version at least. The ebuild which is attached to this bug works fine against =geant-4.9.4_p03. After an upgrade to =geant-4.9.6, the vgm from science-overlay compiles just fine, so I think an addition of an appropriate >=geant-4.9.6 (I did not test the intermediate 4.9.5-version, though) to the dependencies should be fine.
sci-physics/vgm is in the tree now since quite a while and proxy-maintained by me, so I guess this can be closed?
