I'm trying to emerge xapian-bindings for the python bindings. I've run into a gcc error in tree-ssa-live.c. please go into /var/tmp/portage/dev-libs/xapian-bindings-1.2.4/work/xapian-bindings-1.2.4/python-2.6 and then run: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I.. -I/usr/include/python2.6 -fno-strict-aliasing -Wall -Wno-unused -Wno-uninitialized -fvisibility=hidden -march=native -E modern/xapian_wrap.cc -fPIC -DPIC -o xapian_wrap.i and then run: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I.. -I/usr/include/python2.6 -fno-strict-aliasing -Wall -Wno-unused -Wno-uninitialized -fvisibility=hidden -march=native -fPIC -DPIC -c xapian_wrap.i if it still crashes, compress xapian_wrap.i and post it as an attachment

I've attached the file to this bug.
we need to know what -march=native is. do this: $ echo "" | gcc -march=native -v -E - 2>&1 | grep cc1
scratch that, i can reproduce.
Created attachment 267157 [details] (mostly) reduced xapian_wrap.i simply build this with `g++ -c` to see it fail
Is this something I should be worrying about for 1.2.7? I tried to reproduce this and couldn't.
It only affects 4.4 and we have 4.5 stable now.
xapian-1.2.4 is long out of the tree. gcc-4.5 is stable. And I can't reproduce this.
