The beta fixes an awful lot of bugs, so a version bump would be nice :)

I tried it and it didn't manage to bring up my existing collection - rather, it couldn't start. amarok-9999 currently works better than that, we should definitely wait for the next beta.

I've added a testing 2.4.0.90 ebuild to the tree.
It currently fails to start for me complaining about not finding any collection plugins.

It did that when I made a 2.4.0.90 ebuild myself, by just renaming the previous ebuild.  I assumed it was some configuration/path that had changed between previous versions and this one, so I just gave up and installed amarok-9999 instead (which does not make a fuss).  Maybe something needs to be changed in the ebuild?  Either that or the beta is shipping with a rather impressive bug...

I had forgot that the amarok-2.4.0.90 tarball was broken and caused this issue.
I've now applied the upstream patch to fix the plugin detection at startup.
