Please post your `emerge --info' too. Also, what overlay would that be?
Does this happen every single time you attempt to fetch it? Connection reset by peer isn't anything we can fix on our end, that means there was a connection issue with upstream (clutter's git server) and the only thing I know of is to try again.
The git repo uri is correct, this is a problem on your end.
i can not confirm its solved, i have tried and its still not able to dowload. or the ebuild has a problem in general: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -march=core2 -O2 -pipe -Wall -Wmissing-prototypes -Wpointer-arith -Wdeclaration-after-statement -Wendif-labels -fno-strict-aliasing -fwrapv -I../../../src/include -fpic -I../../../src/include/snowball -I../../../src/include/snowball/libstemmer -I../../../src/include -D_GNU_SOURCE -I/usr/include/libxml2 -I/usr/include/postgresql-9.0/ -c -o stem_ISO_8859_1_porter.o ./libstemmer/stem_ISO_8859_1_porter.c * Package: media-libs/clutter-9999 * Repository: gentoo * Maintainer: gnome@gentoo.org * USE: amd64 elibc_glibc introspection kernel_linux multilib userland_GNU * FEATURES: sandbox * GIT NEW clone --> * repository: git://git.clutter-project.org/clutter.git Cloning into bare repository /usr/portage/distfiles/git-src/clutter... fatal: read error: Connection reset by peer * ERROR: media-libs/clutter-9999 failed (unpack phase): * git.eclass: can't fetch from git://git.clutter-project.org/clutter.git. * * Call stack: * ebuild.sh, line 56: Called src_unpack * environment, line 3345: Called git_src_unpack * environment, line 2662: Called git_fetch * environment, line 2579: Called die * The specific snippet of code: * ${EGIT_FETCH_CMD} ${extra_clone_opts} ${EGIT_OPTIONS} "${EGIT_REPO_URI}" ${GIT_DIR} || die "${EGIT}: can't fetch from ${EGIT_REPO_URI}."; * * If you need support, post the output of 'emerge --info =media-libs/clutter-9999', * the complete build log and the output of 'emerge -pqv =media-libs/clutter-9999'. * The complete build log is located at '/var/log/portage/media-libs:clutter-9999:20110322-131451.log'. * The ebuild environment file is located at '/var/tmp/portage/media-libs/clutter-9999/temp/environment'. * S: '/var/tmp/portage/media-libs/clutter-9999/work/clutter-9999' ########################### i have only problem with this live ebuild other life ebuild with git or svn, hg and bzr works fine here. so it can not be a environment problem to fetch this. can u check plz. i will reopen this untill it get fixed
(In reply to comment #5) > can u check plz. i will reopen this untill it get fixed doing this is the best way to get everyone upset. Please check by other means than using this ebuild that you have no problem in connecting to this address. Use git by hand, ping, telnet, etc, to reach the service.
clutter-9999.ebuild has been removed from the tree, there is no need to have it there anymore.
it seem to be there again in gnome overlay
i have spoken in irc: IRC: Join irc.gnome.org:#gnome-shell to participate in daily discussions or get help with running, developing, or designing for the GNOME Shell. i got the confirmation of some ppl there that there are really a problem with the git of clutter. yes the ebuild is ok and the link to git is also fine, but this git server has a problem. so i will let this bug open. i hope
Excellent, thanks for investigating. This is not a problem we can solve.
