On 2011-02-19, lcdproc-0.5.4 has been released. For release notes, see http://sourceforge.net/projects/lcdproc/files/lcdproc/0.5.4/ Renaming lcdproc-0.5.3.ebuild to lcdproc-0.5.4.ebuild and emerging worked, tested with my Crystalfontz CF-635. However, I cannot test the hd44780-driver that had the most changes since my new PC doesn't have a parallel-port. Thus, requesting bump with unstable keywords. Reproducible: Always
i would also like to note that at least with openrc-0.8.2, --background should be removed from the init script. $ sudo /etc/init.d/lcdproc start * Starting lcdproc ... * start-stop-daemon: caught an interrupt * start-stop-daemon: /usr/bin/lcdproc died [ !! ] * ERROR: lcdproc failed to start $ ps ax | grep lcdproc 23564 ? Ss 0:00 /usr/bin/lcdproc after removing --background, lcdproc works just fine.
The next stable version of LCDproc is now available for download on Sourceforge: LCDproc 0.5.5. This release includes some bug fixes as well as several updated drivers. Get the sources, documentation, and release notes from here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/lcdproc/files/lcdproc/0.5.5/
