Screenshot of Emacs 23.3

When using GNU Emacs 23.3 cursor (the square thing that tells you where you're about to write, not the mouse cursor) behaves strangely - disappears, leaves some visual garbage after moving - making Emacs unusable. Downgrading to 23.2-r2 solved the problem.

Please post the following info:
  - output of "emerge --info"
  - output of "emerge -pv =app-editors/emacs-23.3"
  - a recipe how to reproduce the bug (starting with "emacs -Q")

I've tried Emacs 23.3 again to reproduce the bug and strangely I can't, it works well with and without '-Q'. That's strange because yesterday I tried recompiling several times without any change and I haven't changed any other parts of my system. Sorry for the noise, if I run into this bug again, I'll reopen the bug.

I've nailed down the issue to KWin desktop effects. If they are on, Emacs behaves strangely, if they are off everything works. I haven't seen this in any other application, even when effects are on. I use KDE 4.6.1.

How about newer kde versions (4.6.5 or 4.7.0)?
