http://jruby.org/ new release Reproducible: Always
+1 from the ruby team. jruby 1.6.0 is blocking for jruby support in dev-ruby/rspec:2, which in turn is blocking for updates on a number of packages. (or we could drop jruby support for them, but I'd rather not do that) Given the number of packages now converting to rspec:2 I expect this number to grow.
Is this still blocking on dev-ruby/rspec jruby support? This bug is 4 monthes old now.
(In reply to comment #2) > Is this still blocking on dev-ruby/rspec jruby support? This bug is 4 monthes > old now. No, the block was the other way around (rspec needed this version of jruby), but that has been resolved on the rspec side in the mean time. This bug is blocked on somebody doing the work. I had a look at it but it requires more java knowledge than I have or want. Feel free to help us out!
There is now a preliminary (aka non-working) version of jruby 1.6.4 in the ruby overlay. You will also need some java packages from the ruby overlay and from the java-overlay overlay. jruby currently builds but crashes when being run. We suspect these crashes are related to the dev-java/jnr-posix test failures that we are also seeing. Please feel free to test and propose fixes.
I had a quick look at jruby 1.6.5, but there is no newer release for jnr-posix which is where the real problem appears to be. Still needs someone with java skills to dig in and see what is going on there.
We have had a working implementation of jruby 1.6 in the ruby overlay for some time now. High time to move it to the main tree!
jruby 1.6.5.1 is now moved from the ruby overlay to main CVS.
